Later another birder (don't know who) spotted the darker Long-tailed Duck swimming & diving near the first Long-Tailed Duck. At least four other birders got reasonably good views of at least one of the Long-Tailed Duck while we were there (up to about 12:40 PM). Any person on SBB seeing what to them is an unusual bird should certainly feel free to report that sighting. No special grammar or bird description is required. If an error is made in Identifying the bird chances are someone will try to help that person off-line (not on SBB). As a minimum that person should call or e-mail someone who will follow-up on the sighting and thus give other birders an opportunity to see the bird. Try me, I'm easy.
