Somers Water Pollution Control Plant. The Common Tern was in basic plumage and rested among the visibly larger Forster's Terns. The diminutive Black Terns alternately rested on the levee and foraged in tandem nearby. Three alternate plumaged Forster's Terns sat in a row behind the Common Tern. Fellow birder Emily Serkin spotted the Common Tern and was studying the two Black Terns when I left at 4:30.
